Crew Leader

The Crew Leader is responsible for supervising and participating in a crew's work. The crew leader may manage a crew by prioritizing projects, assigning tasks, maintaining records, and ensuring crew safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must have the ability to perform all aspects of the projects they are assigned to
Prioritize the project so it can be completed on time
Must have a valid driver’s license & maintain a good driving record
Assign work tasks to the crew
Must work closely with the PM
Ensure the crew is ready for the day’s project and is on time
Ensure vehicles are loaded with all supplies & tools
Responsible for supplies and tools on the job site and at the shop
Ensure the crew is on time for the daily Morning Huddle

Equipment Manager

The Equipment Manager manages all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs, and equipment used on the job sites. This position acts as a technical advisor on all equipment issues and assists the management team with equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates all repairs and maintenance of equipment
Purchase small tools and any supplies needed for the equipment or work crews with the Division Leader’s approval
Provide management with a weekly status report
Inspect equipment regularly to comply with company policies
Coordinate training sessions for new equipment with the operators as needed
Keep an updated inventory list and maintenance log of all equipment in Fleetio
Determine when equipment is out of service and convey this information to the Project Coordinator and the Project Manager.

Project Manager

The Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific project with a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables. The project manager assumes a wide range of duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with management, create and communicate a work plan that identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete the project successfully and to stage the job site
In consultation with Project Coordinator, select staff and sub-contractors required for the project
Implement and control the project, including equipment rental
Responsible for obtaining all supplies/materials needed to complete the project and ensure it is within budget and at the required level of quality
Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
Manage all project funds according to accounting policies and procedures
Evaluate the outcome of the project as established during the planning phase
Maintain a clean and orderly job site; ensure the property meets TLI standards.
Obtain any needed portable toilet/sanitary equipment and schedule the removal of such items
Ensure PA811 calls are made before the project begins
Schedule and attend meetings
And other duties as assigned
Responsible for photos before, during, and at job completion, upload to Company Cam
If applicable, schedule photos in Jobber for two years out; in early July
Receive payment or assign this duty to the Crew Leader and ensure the payment is secure in the front office.

Sales Associate

The Sales Associate spends a large portion of their workday communicating with customers, providing information regarding product benefits, and ensuring that customers are satisfied with their experience. The Sales Associate represents the employers’ specific product brands.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledgeable about the benefits and uses of the products
Meeting with clients to discuss their projects
Responsible for project designs
Prepare proposals promptly
Answer client’s phone calls within 24 business hours and provide honest and positive feedback to customers regarding the best product that fits their needs
Handling sales transactions
Meeting with clients and interacting with them with a positive demeanor
Maintain an enthusiastic and upbeat personality
Transfer of trust to Client/Crew Representative
Perform a post-job visit within one month after the project’s completion

Technician

The Technician will be responsible for physical labor, construction projects, and maintenance. Job responsibilities can include clean and prepare sites, trouble shoot issues and maintenance of tools and equipment. The technician may work independently or under the direction of a professional. We encourage you to bring ideas to the crew leader.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for operating equipment and tools
Ensure the job site is kept safe & clean at all times
Follow the instructions of the Crew Leader
Work compliantly as a member of the team
Responsible for keeping the job site, trucks, and equipment clean at all times
Be in proper uniform at all times when representing the company

Brothers Jason Turpin and Chad Turpin knew they wanted to create a company together as they were coming out of the high school. Growing up on a farm, they both had experience with outdoor work, and they started by mowing lawns and taking on small landscaping jobs. For Jason, that quickly developed into a passion for water features when a contractor installed a pond at the school as a science learning opportunity, and Chad found his talent for solving landscaping challenges to create meaningful spaces for people to enjoy together. Since founding Turpin Landscape Design Build in 2001, Chad and Jason have built an incredible team of landscaping professionals with the skills and experience to design and install a wide range of landscaping features, from ponds and pools to stone retaining walls and patios.
