The West Chester, Pennsylvania, area is dotted with farm ponds, a relic of our agricultural past. Today, these ponds are prominent features on many local properties, inspiring homeowners to embrace them as a treasured aspect of their aesthetic.
Our team works with you to repair or renovate your farm pond or mud pond to ensure it suits your home and landscape. When we work on these ponds, we focus on the management of fluctuating water levels, water quality, and more.
- Aeration: We recommend aerators for every pond, which requires access to electricity. If you don't have the lines already installed, we can help you with that, too.
- Water Treatment: We aim to reduce muck and improve water quality with beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and more. These products work without an aerator, but you'll notice much better results with aeration.
- Skimming: This is the most important part of maintaining a mud bottom pond. If the dirt and debris that blows onto your pond is left to sit, it creates an unsightly appearance and ultimately sinks to the bottom, where it builds up a layer of sludge. With an overflow spillway, there's a constant skimming process that can be aided with jets.
- Aquatic Plants: These plants provide shade and inhibit the growth of algae by using up the nutrients that are in the water. They serve as natural filters—and they're beautiful.
- Dredging: If it's been a long time since your last pond maintenance visit, dredging the pond is an essential step to remove the layer of sludge at the bottom. This gives us the framework for other services to promote the long-term health of your farm pond.
- Wetland Filtration: Completely transform your pond with wetland filtration. Along with the other five steps in pond repair and renovation, we can restore a natural ecosystem that makes your pond easier to care for over time.

How We Streamline the Most Complex Projects
Creating a great customer experience is as important to us as building beautiful landscapes. Over the years, we've streamlined our process to ensure a simple, hassle-free experience for you. View each step in our process below to learn more.
1. Get In Touch
This is where it all begins! Fill out the contact form on our website and give us some information about your project. You'll hear from us within one business day requesting any additional information that may be needed or to move forward with the next step in our process.
2. Initial Consultation
This is an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other better either on the phone or virtually. You'll go into detail about your needs and wants, to ensure we've got a good understanding of what you're looking for in your space so that we can present you with a ballpark price for your project.
3. Onsite Consultation
The Project Manager or Landscape Designer will be there, and we ask that all decision-makers be present. We’ll collect your consultation fee, which will be credited toward the design and/or construction. During this consultation we’ll take measurements, photos, and share material samples with you to help you get a better sense of what's possible. Throughout it all, we're here to guide you with expert advice and recommendations.
From there, we'll draw up your agreement and collect your deposit or design fee to secure your place on our schedule. For some projects, we'll start our design process right there on the spot!
4. Design & Materials
For larger projects and pools there is a more extensive design phase. There's a $1,500-5,000 design charge, depending upon the scope of the project and whether you'd like a 2D or 3D design. We'll have a virtual meeting to present your design plan which includes material samples. Design and material adjustments are made according to your feedback. We offer revisions, because we want to make sure the design is exactly what you're envisioning for your space. We’ll finalize your plans and draft your construction agreement. When you sign off on it and pay your construction deposit, we’ll secure your place on our calendar.
5. Project Kick-Off Meeting
You'll meet in person with the Project Manager and your crew leader, where we'll revisit the scope of your work and the fine details of your project. We'll mark everything out on the ground so you can get a sense of the layout in your space, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions. This meeting usually occurs 2-4 weeks before construction.
6. Construction
Your Project Manager remains your point of contact throughout the construction phase. Our crew works hard to stick to the agreed upon schedule and budget, pending any change requests or weather conditions and other circumstances out of our control. We'll provide weekly updates on the status of the project and communicate proactively whenever something needs your attention.
7. Final Walkthrough
You'll take a final look at your new landscape with your Project Manager, and we'll show you how to properly care for and maintain your outdoor features. This is also when we'll collect your final payment.
