At Turpin Landscape, a well-designed water feature can completely transform an outdoor space. For this pond installation in Wayne, PA, our team is returning to a client’s property to install a second custom pond—this time, closer to their home and deck.
Last year, we built a 16×21 pond in a separate area of the property, near an outdoor living space where the family, kids, and pets frequently gathered. The clients loved it so much that they wanted another one near their deck for a better view inside the house.
Designing a Natural, Elevated Pond
For this second pond installation in Wayne, PA, our goal is to replicate the success of the first pond while ensuring it integrates seamlessly into the landscape near the house. Key design elements include:
- A Negative Edge: This feature helps create a smooth, natural water flow, enhancing the visual appeal from various angles.
- Bof Falls 6000: A powerful waterfall system that adds movement and sound to the pond.
- Multiple Waterfall Drops: We’re incorporating at least two, possibly three waterfall drops to enhance the pond’s beauty and soundscape.
- Strategic Elevation Planning: We carefully set the water level and surrounding elevations to ensure the pond doesn’t look sunken when viewed from the deck.
Since we are working against the property line, we must maximize the space while maintaining a natural aesthetic. The team uses boulders and backfilling to create a seamless blend between the pond and the surrounding landscape.
Progress & Next Steps for this Pond Installation in Wayne, PA
We are just a few hours into Day 1, and the groundwork is already taking shape. Over the coming days, we will continue refining the elevation, waterfall structures, and final landscaping. Once completed, this new water feature will offer the homeowners a stunning, peaceful view from their deck and windows.
