They used jackhammers and special equipment to remove the thick concrete. This cleared the way for reshaping the area into a more natural landscape, setting the stage for the rec pond transformation.
Installing the Negative Edge
Once the pool’s concrete was removed, the team installed a negative edge system. This system optimizes water storage and filtration. Positioned at the pond’s edge, it acts as both a mechanical filter and a cleanout point for debris. Additionally, a waterfall will flow over a large rock, enhancing the pond’s beauty and keeping the water clean.
Creating the Biological Filter for Crystal Clear Water
To keep the water clear, the team installed a biological filter. This system naturally cleans the water as it passes through gravel, aqua blocks, and aquatic plants. As a result, the pond will remain a balanced ecosystem. The water will stay clean and safe for swimming while preventing dirt and organic buildup.
Maximizing Water Storage with AquaBloxs
At the heart of the pond’s water system are Aquascape AquaBloxs. These high-capacity containers allow the pond to store large amounts of water in small spaces.
